MAJOR CATCH UP

Well it's been so long since I've blogged, I've practically forgotten how. There has been a lot going on with Ryan and I lately. I just wanted to share what we're doing and share some pictures as well. First of all we bought a house back in November. Yes that's how big of a slacker I am. It's located in Provo right off of Geneva Road and we love our house. It's about 2500 square feet, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a double car garage. We have a big room that was added on above the garage before we moved in and we spend most of our time up there. It does need a lot of work but we felt it was the right house for us, and we're really excited to have our own place to fix up and live in. It has a pretty big back yard that needs a lot of work as well, but will be so nice once we get it fixed up. I've only taken pictures of the upstairs so I'll include outside pictures on another post. There is also a basement that we are just using for storage right now since it's just the 2 of us. But there's 2 bedrooms in the basement, the laundry room, another family room, bathroom and closets. We have done no work downstairs so I haven't taken pictures of those rooms either.

Well to make sure this post isn't too long, Ryan also decided he wanted to get a puppy since we have a house now. He found a puppy on KSL and we've had him for about 2 1/2 weeks. His name is Rambo and he is a boxer. I told Ryan he could have a dog if he takes care of him and he has done really well with it. He's fun to play with and he is growing and learning everyday which is good because he was a nightmare the first few days we had him. But I am learning to love him. Well enough of the talking, here are some pictures of our house and our puppy.

I'll try to post more pictures as we get more done and I'll take some pictures of the rest of the house so you all can see what it looks like from the outside.

There was the most incredible lightning/thunderstorm this morning. I woke up about 5:30 am to the sound of thunder. As soon as I opened my eyes I saw lightning going off what seems about every couple of seconds. I layed awake for probably 10 minutes just listening. It really was incredible what was going on outside, I just had to look out my window. Seriously every couple of seconds I saw a bolt of lightning go across the sky. Some were so close to our house that the lightning would go and not more than a second later there would be thunder. It was really loud and I could feel our bed shaking. I'm not gonna lie, I was a little scared, but it was really quite amazing. This earth is such a fascinating place and I am glad we get to experience things like that every once in a while. I'm just glad I wasn't in the mountains!

Celebrations

Well last week Ryan and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary and also my 24th birthday. We decided we wanted to do something fun so Ryan booked us a hotel in Salt Lake and we stayed up there for 2 nights. We stayed at the Sheraton Hotel which was pretty nice and we really had a good time. We left Friday night after work and got to our hotel about 8:00. We ate dinner at the Skybox which is at the Gateway Mall. We really enjoyed the food. It was too late to do anything after that so we just went back to the hotel. Here's a picture of our room.

Saturday morning we went to Park City to do a little shopping at the outlets. I found some fun stuff for my birthday and we enjoyed just walking around. We ate lunch at our favorite place in Park City. The Main Street Pizza and Noodle. They make the best pizza so that's what we shared.

We went back to Salt Lake, did a little more shopping at the Gateway, and then headed down to Jordan Commons for dinner and movie. We ended up seeing Date Night and actually really enjoyed it (even though there was some really dirty parts in the movie). Sunday we went golfing. I that's not a good Sunday activity, but we really wanted to go. We had a really good time that weekend and we were really glad we could get away from home for a couple days. I wish I would have taken some more pictures, but I'm lame like that. It was tons of fun though.

Happy Birthday Ryan

Today was Ryan's birthday. He just turned 25! We had a really fun day. Ryan actually had to work this morning until about 2, so after that he wanted to go golfing. We golfed at Cedar Hills Golf Course and the weather couldn't have been more perfect. It was the first time we've been this year, so naturally we should have been rusty. I'm not good to begin with, but Ryan actually played well for his first time of the year. (Not to brag, but I actually made par on one hole, that's definitely a first.) After the golf we went and ate at the Bombay House. It's a fantastic Indian restaraunt and we recommend everyone should go. After dinner Ryan did a little a shopping and found some new shoes and a couple new shirts. I hope he had a fun day. I tried to make it special. Happy Birthday Ryan!!!!

For all you survivor fans out there, I just saw Tyson, who is one of the villains this season, walking through Harmons. You might not think that's cool, but I kind of do. I was gonna try and take his picture to post, but wasn't able to in time. I guess he's not really a celebrity, but it's close enough for me. I know he's a total weirdo, but it's really fun to see him in real life. Harmons has had a few celbrities visit. Lindsay Lohan walked by one time while I was working. Like I said, I really don't care for these people, but it's kind of fun to say you've seen them in person. I'm totally lame!!

I'm so excited for Thanksgiving this week! I can't believe we're already to the end of November. I swear it was just barely November 1st. I'm super super excited though. I love being able to spend lots of time with family, and I'm so grateful to have Ryan's family and my family so close. We are truly blessed. I feel bad for all those that have to travel to get to their Thanksgiving or Christmas destinations, but I hope you all have a fabulous time! Happy Thanksgiving to all!

I'm A Slacker

Well I see that it's been 2 months since I last posted, but I just feel like I don't have anything to tell about. Ryan and I are still doing the same old things we've always been doing. Work and spending nights trying to think of things to do. I feel like anything fun these days costs money and that's something that we just don't have a lot of. If anyone has any ideas of fun things to do that cost little or no money please help us out. I told Ryan I really just feel like a robot. I wake up, go to work, come home, cook dinner, sit around and go to bed. It's the same thing everyday. I need some sort of change so I'm open for suggestions. Ryan has been sick these last few days so we've spent a lot of time at home. I hope he gets better soon! Maybe one of these days I'll have something exciting to talk about. Until then, I hope you are all doing well. It sounds like you are from your blogs and I love reading them everyday, and especially looking at pictures. I am excited for the holidays though. That's one good thing to look forward to!

Well Ryan and I have started exercising again. We've made a goal to run all but one day a week. We have Sunday off as well. We've been waking up at 6:00 am to run and be home by 7:00 am so we can shower and go to work. It's killing me! I get plenty of sleep every night, but there's just something about waking up at 6:00 that is taking it's toll on me. Yesterday I fell asleep at church, and as soon as we got home, I fell asleep and probably could have slept all day, but I knew that probably wasn't the right thing to do. But man I'm tired. I just have to keep telling myself that it's the right thing to do and my body really needs the help considering all I do for work is sit on my butt for 10 straight hours. The weather is perfect at that time in the morning and I will definitely take that over the weather at 9:00 pm which is when we used to run. Ryan and I have both set goals for ourselves and I think Mom even wanted to get in on the action as well. So we'll see how we all do...

The Nephews

Ryan's sister and her two little boys were at his parents house the other day, so we went over to see them. Ryan loves to play with his nephews. They are all very high energy. Ryan started throwing them up in the air, and I just had to take some pictures. He wasn't just throwing them, he was launching them. Well it's been a while since Ryan finished this latest project so I am now showing you all what he has created. He's been wanting to build us a new dresser for a while, and he was able to finish it a while ago. I'm so excited about how it turned out. It's so nice to have the extra drawer space and it cleared up so much space in our messy closet. It turned out awesome so I wanted to share it with those of you that haven't seen it. Thanks Ryan!

I'm sitting here at work on Valentine's Day and I'll tell you I'm really bored. I'm so bored I just sit here and observe what's going on in the grocery store. It's amazing how many males are in the store today. Obviously they are all buying flowers, candy, balloons etc... My friend went and wrote down all the prices on the different arrangement of flowers and has been calculating how many people have gone through one checkstand, and what type of arrangement they are purchasing. So far the rough total spent on flowers just from this one checkstand is about $900.00. I can't believe how pricey the flowers are on Valentine's Day, and I feel bad for all the men that are pressured or feel obligated to buy flowers for their sweethearts. Ladies, they aren't cheap, so be appreciative. I hope you all have a Happy Valentine's Day!

Well today while I was bored at work, I decided I'd go to ksl and see what was happening in the news. I learned today that working at a bank is the 3rd germiest job there is. It really grossed me out, but reaffirmed the gross feeling on my hands after handling anything at work. Money really is the most dirty thing on the entire planet! And I have to touch lots of it everyday. I've touched some really interesting bills that I don't even want to know where they've been, and the other day I had the pleasure of counting $400 in one dollar bills given to me by a stripper. I was careful to touch the outside of the bills because they reeked of cigarette smoke and who knows what else. Anyways I'd rather just not know where they've been and I'll feel better about it. I'm constantly washing my hands to get the gross crusty feeling off of them. I have a really good job, but I don't like thinking that it's the 3rd germiest job out there. Friday Night

Ryan and I went to the Utah Auto Expo tonight. It's fun but also depressing to see all the awesome cars and just wish that you could afford to buy one. But here are a few pictures from the expo.

After the auto expo we went to Sports Authority and they were having a crazy sale on skis and snowboards. They had brand new skis there for $30.00. That's right$30.00!!!! I bought my snowboard for $50.00. So altogether my snowboard, boots and bindings cost $189.00. After Ryan put my board together, he had the urge to snowboard down the hill we made a few days ago. I had to take some pictures so here they are. I can't wait to try out my new board.

Work Stories

Well I had a lady at work the other day who really just made me laugh because of how childish she acted. She came to my station and asked to withdraw some money. I asked her nicely if I could see her ID. She flipped open her wallet and I started writing down the number but couldn't see the expiration year on it. So again I nicely asked her if she knew what year her license expired. She then started to get really ornery with me. She pulled it out so I could see, but then asked me what would happen if it had expired. I told her it would not be a valid ID and I wouldn't be able to accept it. She then got even more ornery and told me it wouldn't matter because it had her name and picture on it. I don't like it when people tell me how to do my job, so again I told her it would still not be valid if it had expired. Well, by then she picked up her receipt, crumpled it up, threw it at me, and started to storm off, when I asked her if she would like her cash she had just taken out. She turned around, got her cash and walked off. Normally something like that would make me very upset, but I just had to laugh. Some people just never grow up (she was probably in her 60's by the way). So in the future, if anyone asks for your ID, don't give them any crap for it. They are just trying to protect you whether it's expired or not.

Snow, Snow, and More Snow!!!

It has snowed so much here in the last couple of days. I am absolutely loving it! Sure it may be horrible to drive in, but it is so much fun to play in. Ryan and I had to play in it the other day. We tried to build a mound as high as we could. We got it pretty big, but our arms were so tired from throwing all that snow around. But it was so much fun and I felt like a kid again. These pictures don't really do much justice to how much snow there really is, but for all you who are not in Orem, UT, THERE IS SO MUCH SNOW AND KEEP IT COMING!

Temple Square

Tonight Ryan and I decided to make a trip up to Temple Square. It's been a couple years since we've both been there so we thought it would be fun. It was beautiful and there was actually snow on the ground and trees which makes it even more beautiful. It was pretty cold though. It only started snowing as we were walking back to the car. It was so fun and it made this month just feel so much more "christmassy". I would recommend that everyone should go if you have the chance. It was definitely worth it! We tried to take some pictures, but you really just need a tripod so you can keep the camera steady. As you can tell the temple pictures are kind of blurry, but we did the best we could. Merry Christmas!

I am so excited for Thanksgiving, and I can't believe how this month has flown by. All I've been thinking about this week is eating lots of turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing. I can't wait! I've also been getting excited for Christmas. Ryan and I went to Shopko the other day and bought some cute Christmas decorations. If you want some pretty good stuff, go there because they have everything 30%, 40%, and 50% off. Pretty good deals I think unless I'm just a sucker and they really aren't good deals. We pulled out all our Christmas decorations at home too. We're waiting to set them up until after Thanksgiving, we just thought we'd get a head start on the crappy job of pulling them out of the spider infested closet under the stairs. Ryan was nice to do that. Anyways, I'm just so excited for the holidays and especially for Thanksgiving that's coming up in a week! Oh my goodness, where did November go?

Naughty Kitty

There are two cats that live at our house (and about 20 other strays that think they live at our house), but Tickles loves to come into our apartment when the door is open and sleep on our bed. No matter what time of day it is if she notices that our door is open she will quickly run in and jump on our bed. I have never liked cats and a lot of times it bugs me when she comes in, but she is the sweetest cat and just loves to be pet. Her fur is so soft and I just can't help but pet her so I let it slide most the time. Of course she had to come in while I was folding laundry on the bed and walk all over it, but I forgave her when she came over for me to pet her. I guess she is pretty cute and soft!

The other day Ryan and I were upstairs watching the BYU football game with his brother and sister-in-law when she pulled out this little cool contraption for her baby Dixon. We thought it was the coolest thing and I think every baby would love one. She says Dixon just loves to sit in it and watch television. I'll definitely be getting one when I have a baby! (Which by the way is not gonna be for a while so don't anybody think I'm making an announcement.)

Ryan found a basket found of goodies and decided to try one of the giant lollipops. I thought it was funny and had to take some pictures. The lollipop is almost as big as his head! And he said it tasted pretty good.
And I'm so glad you are all as much into the olympics as Ryan and I are. USA is surely representing and we are having so much fun! GO TEAM USA!

So Wednesday was Mark's birthday. I had the day off so I spent most of the day at Mom and Dad's making a skirt and just hanging out. Mark wanted to challenge me in Guitar Hero so we went to my house where Mark quickly found out he wasn't as much competition for me as he thought he was:) Just kidding Mark, you were a worthy opponent. After we played we headed back to Mom and Dad's for an awesome birthday dinner of bratwurst and sauerkraut. It was such a good dinner and a very good choice by Mark. After dinner Mark wanted to play a game of croquet. It was really fun even though I was the first one eliminated. We then had some dessert and just sat around and talked for a little while until Mark had to leave to go up to Salt Lake to hang out with his friends. So Dad, Mom, Ryan and I finished out the birthday celebration by playing miniature gold at Cascade. It was lots of fun, even though the birthday boy wasn't there. We had a great time and we ended the night with some slushes from Sonic. Dad and Mom are so generous and we love spending time with them. It was a really fun day and I hope we can do more things like that more often. Thanks for the fun day!!!

Ok guys sorry I haven't been posting. I feel like I never have anything to put on here so I just don't. Nothing new has been going on with the Dunaways. We've both just been working a lot and just hanging out. We did start a membership with Netflix that we have really enjoyed so far. It's nice not to have to go to the movie store just to walk around and leave with no movies because there is nothing out we want to see. Ryan has been the one picking the movies and I just watch what is brought to our mailbox. The latest movie we watched was The Burbs. Ryan wanted me to watch this movie because we have some neighbors across the street that Ryan and his brother call the Burbs. Now that I have seen the movie, they do have a pretty close resemblance to the family in the movie. It's really kind of creepy but it was a funny movie. But besides watching movies and working we really haven't done anything else.

While Tricia was here Mom, Tricia and I went to the fabric store and Mom suggested she would buy me some material to make a new skirt. I found some material I liked and the other day Mom helped me make it. I had to start out with the simple a-line design and it turned out pretty good thanks to Mom, or it would have been a total disaster. So thank you Mom for helping me! I didn't really have a shirt to go with it so Mom and Dad were really generous and gave me some money to go buy one. So thank you for the shirt as well! But here is the final product. Just ignore the fat girl in the outfit, she is working on getting skinny.

Fun Vacations!

Well I've looked at all the other sibling's blogs and pretty much they've put all the same pictures I have on them so there's nothing really for me to say or show from my fun trip to Ohio and Pennsylvania. So I've decided to put some of the pictures from Ryan's Lake Powell trip on here so you can all see what fun he had.

Ryan didn't have anyone take pictures of him so he just took pictures of the landscape. I loved this picture because the water is green which is different then some of his other pictures. I also just the love the color of the rock with the water. Very pretty.

This is a picture of the cliff that Ryan and his brother-in-law jumped off of. CRAZY I know! He says his brother recorded it but I have yet to see it. I hear it's totally insane and Ryan said it was pretty intense. I believe it. He didn't take a lot of pictures, but these are just a few of what he did take. He had a blast and hopes to go back again soon.

Well while I am going on my vacation to Ohio (which I'm very excited about) Ryan will be going to Lake Powell with his brother and a friend. Ryan asked me if he could take my camera with him because the one he has is crap. I told him heck no! So we decided he would go buy a better camera. This one should be a lot better than the other one. He was playing around with his camera and went outside and took this cool picture of a tree in our front yard. I love the colors especially with the solid black in the background. I know I never post exciting things, but this is my attempt at keeping it up. Have a great day everyone!

Just Wanting To Say Hi!

We just wanted to say hi to all of our family and friends all over the country. I know I've been a real slacker at posting, but our internet has been having major problems and we just got it fixed. I didn't think the internet was that important to my everyday life, but when I don't have it, I sure do miss it. But we miss our family and are pretty bored because we don't have a lot to do around here. I decided it's important in life to have things to look forward to, otherwise I would be really sad. The things I've been able to look forward to this year are, Lianne and Devin's wedding, Valentine's Day, baby Josh being born, our 1 year wedding anniversary, my birthday, and my bonus night for work. Most of those are just little things, but I look forward to them. Right now I'm just looking forward to visiting all my family in Ohio and Pennsylvania. So I encourage everyone to look forward to those little exciting things in life, and it will make you happier. Cheesy I know, but it keeps me going. We hope everything is going good in your lives, and I really enjoy reading all of your blogs.

Most of the time I'm looking at the blogs at work and it doesn't allow me to comment, but I really decided I should. So I'm gonna try and be better cause it's a good way to keep in touch. More New York Pictures

Ok I know I haven't posted in a long time. It's just that there hasn't been anything interesting that has happened since my last post. So I decided to throw some more pictures from our New York trip on here.

There are so many amazing views from the Empire State Building. I have never been so high off the ground in my entire life. It was quite an experience!

We wanted to go see one or two broadway plays while we were there and to Ryan and I there was no other choice than the Phantom of the Opera. It was so amazing! I have never been to anything like it. We had so much fun that we just had to go see another play. We chose Tarzan and unfortunately it was not very good. The sets and costumes were awesome, but the songs weren't the same as the movie and it was just kind of boring. But it was still BROADWAY!

I wanted to post these pictures for Tricia because she is the artist. We got to go to the Guggenheim museum of art and the inside of the building was so cool. The art was also awesome, but I just think how they set it up is art in itself. It was just like one big round staircase. I hope someday all of you that love art will get to go to New York if you haven't already. There are so many art museums it's amazing! But I hope everyone, not just you artists, will have a chance to go as well. There is no place on earth like it. We'll be going back soon.

More Warm Weather Please!

Today was the nicest day we've had so far this year. The nice sunny days just make me feel so happy! I get kind of depressed with the overcast days, and especially with the snow we've had lately. Ryan and I went out this morning and were just passing a volleyball around. It was so much fun. First of all I haven't played volleyball in about a year, and it was just so nice to be able to do something outside. From what I hear, it's supposed to be some more warm weather for the next few days and I really look forward to that. So all I gotta say is, bring me the warmth!

Ryan has been working on new cabinets for his parents kitchen, so tonight at 10:30pm they decided to start ripping out the ceiling so they could raise it. It's gonna be a big project and I really liked their choice of attire. I know it's necessary since the ceiling is full of insulation, but I just couldn't pass up the opportunity for a kodak moment!

Exercise Is Doing My Body Good!

Ryan and I have started working out consistently everyday. It's been really hard for me, but when I finish I feel really good about myself. Ryan does weight lifting while I run on the treadmill and spend some time on the elliptical. This has been a good thing just because of some of the health problems I have. I found out recently that I have high blood pressure and the doctor told me with some pills and exercise, we can get it where it needs to be. I find the exercise is also helping with my diabetes. Ryan pushes me hard with working out because he wants me to be healthy, and I'm grateful he does. So while he's busy pumping his iron and getting bigger, I'm working on toning down and getting thinner. I'm proud to say that in about a week and a half I have lost 6 pounds. It's really good motivation to see that when you put forth some effort, even though it's hard, you can get results in not too much time. Hopefully I can just keep myself motivated!

I really like Annette's idea for the virtual home tours. I know lots of you have seen our apartment before but we've maybe added some new things since you last saw. For those of you who don't know, we live in Ryan's brother and sister-in-laws basement apartment. We are very lucky to be here because they are so good to us! We get a really good deal and there are so many perks. They let us have access to their washer and dryer, weight room, and we get free direct tv. They are so generous and we love living with them! So here's some pictures of the place we call home.

Ryan and I found some cool rocks at the Dollar Store the other day and decided to get some cool vases to put them in. We finally finished painting our table that Mom gave us. It's really nice not having to eat at the counter anymore. Thanks Mom!

Here is some more of our rocks and vases. We just thought we needed some more decorations.

Mom recovered this love seat for us which we really love. Our apartment isn't big enough to really have any more seating. It's nice having something to sit on.This is our bed which is another piece of furniture Ryan made for us. Our apartment isn't very big, so he made it high enough to fit a lot of our stuff underneath.This is our "Black Friday" tv that I had to wake up at 3 a.m. for. Oh jeah!

Well I showed off Tricia's talent earlier with her drawing and now I want to show off Ryan's talent. This is an entertainment center he built for us. It is absolutely awesome and I love having this beautiful piece of furniture in our apartment. Ryan has been building cabinets for his job and will do little side projects for us occasionally. Hey I'm not complaining though. I love it! He is so good at what he does and he loves doing it! Thanks Ryan!

Well now I can answer yes when I am asked if Ryan and I have a blog. It might take me a really long time to figure out how this all works, but I hope you all enjoy reading our posts.
